The Letus35 1/2” relay lenses are designed for cameras with a ½” image sensor and removable lens system. The Letus 1/2” relays will allow you to bypass the stock lens of your camera and attach a Letus adapter (Extreme, Elite, or Ultimate) directly to your camera body on cameras with removable lenses such as the Sony PMW-EX3. Letus offers two versions of the 1/2” Relay, the Academy Frame Relay and Full Frame Relay. The Academy Frame Relay is designed to work with 35mm Cinema lenses, while the Full Frame Relay is designed to work with 35mm SLR lenses.

The Letus 1/2” Academy frame relay is designed to be used in conjunction with 35mm cinema lenses, such as PL and OCT19 mount lenses. This Relay is designed for the 1.5 crop factor of the academy frame. This Relay can also be used with traditional full frame 35mm SLR style lenses, you will just have to account for a 1.5 crop factor, a 50mm full frame SLR lens will become a 75mm field of view.

The Letus 1/2” Full frame relay is designed to be used in conjunction with 35mm full frame SLR lenses, such as Nikon, Canon, and Minolta lenses. When using this relay, a 50mm full frame SLR lens will retain its 50mm field of view. This Relay can not be used with 35mm cinema lenses, such as PL and OCT19 lenses. Since the Relay is designed for full frame 35mm if you use an academy frame lens you will have sever vignetting in your image.
